Whiz Kid: Gregory Manis

A column that will honor the top students in the Bellmore community.

This week's Whiz Kid is Kennedy senior Gregory Manis!

  • Name: Gregory Manis
  • Grade: Senior
  • School: Kennedy High School
  • Accomplishment: National Merit Scholar.
  • Key to Awesomeness: Manis been selected as a National Merit Scholarship Finalist. He is currently enrolled in five AP courses as well as the Advanced Science Research Program. He is a member of the Math Honor Society and has been recognized as student of the month for Social Studies. He is President of the Computer Club and has been a member for four years.
  • Manis is also a member of H.O.P.E. (Help Our Planet Earth) Club. Outside of school, he is a web administrator, programming hobbyist, an avid reader, and a member of Temple Beth Am Youth Group.
  • After graduation, Manis plans to dual major in Physics and Computer Science and continue his studies for a PhD in Computer Science. He will pursue a career in programming language theory research.
