Good point Sab, they didn't listen to the last Superintendent I don't have much faith that they willRead More listen to the new one. Can anyone tell me where the High School Principals and the District AD stand on this issue, because for the last 7 years have not heard from them. These are there building are they for, or against. That is the BIG Question

OK so now the board is serious ? I'm sorry if I'm a little skeptical but to me it seems like thisRead More issue has been raised in the past, they say the same thing till the people "back off" then they don't do anything about it. Kind of like the boy who cried wolf. What would make me think they are serious about doing something this time ? June 5th is the board of Ed meeting, I hope they have a well thought out plan and are prepared to present it that night otherwise it will seem like more empty promises....

As a college professor, we know that many of the students are not "adults" but LEGALLY weRead More are not allowed to discuss the student with the parent. We know that it is the parent that is most often paying for college, but without a signed letter of consent. signed by both the parent and the student, we are LEGALLY NOT ALLOWED to discuss the student with the parent....no matter how much we want to.

I completely agree with you...and that's my point. Our system does define adulthood by age (and tooRead More young of an age in my opinion) when it shouldn't be. And personally, I think talking on your cell phone or texting while driving should be an immediate loss of license.

Age does not determine adulthood. Maturity does. There are plenty of non-adult 30 year oldsRead More wandering around. You can see them on their cell phones while driving at 70 mph.

Has anybody proposed dismantling the high school district......From the way I understand they have tried unsuccessfully to combine, well then how about saving moneu and splitting up the 3 high schools...This was we wont need 2 administrations...... So Lu Scala never had any children so it might be safe to say you have never been to a PTA meetingRead More or a School Board meeting or a budget presentation so then you would have no idea how the money is spent good or bad. I'm sorry that your neighbors make more than you but like anything else you get what you pay for there are educational requirements for teaching and administration jobs, I'm sure you would be happy if all the school personnel could be replaced by minimum wage earners or better yet we could close all the schools after all you have been out of school for 40 years so you don't need them anymore, but thats not how it works. Why is always the uninformed that speak loudest and longest?

A bit of a surprise considering kids come home with a supply list a mile long (and average $40-$75).
