Sound Off: Do You Support North Bellmore Election Process Change?

Some are campaigning to have the voting changed to an at-large process in the future.

(Editor's note: one candidate's name was removed from this article per their request to Patch.)

As North Bellmore residents head to the polls Tuesday, they won't only be voting for school board candidates and the budget.

Also on the ballot is a potential policy change that would affect the way elections take place in North Bellmore.

This year, JoAnn DeLauter goes against challenger Frank LaMagra, while Rosemarie Corless faces off against challengers and Peter Mayo and (removed).

Under the change, the public would get to vote for any of the two above candidates to fill the spots in an amended at-large system, which is the same that the Bellmore School District adheres to.
