Calhoun Teacher Given Yale Educator Award

The Bellmore Merrick Central High School District recently announced the selection of Sanford H. Calhoun High School Teacher Kimberlie Lascarides for the 2012 Yale Educator Award.  

The Yale Educator Award is a global honor recognizing educators who play a significant role in supporting their students to excel in both their school and home lives.

Lascarides was nominated by incoming Yale Class of 2016 student Asia Brown as one of 274 nominees worldwide. After reviewing nominations spanning over 33 states and 12 countries, 50 teachers were selected by Yale University’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions Committee to receive the prestigious award.
