Bellmore BOE Adopts Proposed 2013-14 Budget

The proposed budget maintains all programs.

The Bellmore Board of Education voted to adopt the proposed 2013-14 school budget at the April meeting, which was held at Winthrop Avenue School.

The budget comes in at $32,897,100, which is a 2.98 percent increase from last year's total. The levy increase was 2.78 percent, according to Assistant Superintendent for Business and Technology Deidre Gambino.

"I’m happy to say that our budget maintains all programs," Superintendent Dr. Joseph Famularo said. “It’s something that we’ve built up over the years so we can maintain it, and we have."

The board also voted to approve the BOCES budget, which came in at $19,686,115.

The public hearing regarding the adopted budget will be held on May 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Charles A. Reinhard Early Childhood Center. The vote will also be held at Reinhard on May 21 from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
