Zachary Parker Gets Jail Time

Merrick man will serve 1 to 3 years for violating his probation.

Zachary Parker, the Merrick man at the center of a scandal involving top brass from the Nassau County Police Department, was sentenced to jail time Wednesday for violating his probation.

Parker will serve 1 to 3 years after he crashed a car while driving with a revoked license last month, according to Newsday. The 21-year-old was already serving 5 years probation after pleading guilty to stealing $11,000 in video equipment from Bellmore's Kennedy High School in 2009.

Three top NCPD officers are facing conspiracy and misconduct charges after they allegedly tried to prevent Parker's arrest after the 2009 incident. A judge said the three will be tried separately.
