Yard Fire Damages Adjacent Home

A fire that started from brush in the backyard spread to a neighbor's home.

Police and fire personnel were at the scene of a Falcon Street residence on Dec. 29 after a pile of wood and leaves caught on fire in the rear yard. The fire then spread to an adjacent house, causing damage. Luckily, no one was injured, according to North Bellmore Third Assistant Fire Chief Doug Sherwood. However, Nassau County Fire Marshals remained on the scene.
