UPDATE: Fatal Car Accident on Merrick Road
Bellmore man dies after crashing his sedan into side of a brick building.
Update: 2:54 p.m. March 4, 2012
Nassau Police officers and the Crime Scene Unit were on the scene of a serious car accident early Sunday morning after one car crashed into the side of a brick building on Merrick Road in Bellmore.
According to police, Miguel Romero, 28, of Bellmore was driving a 2003 Honda Accord eastbound on Merrick Road when his vehicle veered off the roadway. It hit the west side of the Republic Lighting building, located at 2355 Merrick Road. Romero was pronounced at the scene.

The vehicle has been impounded for testing and there is no criminality at this time.
