Two-Car Crash on Bellmore Avenue Sends Man to NUMC

The man was backing up and was hit in the rear by an oncoming car.

A man was injured in a multi-vehicle car accident on Bellmore Avenue just north of Broad Street and was sent to Nassau University Medical Center on Sunday.

According to a Nassau County Police Officer who was at the scene, at about 5:30 p.m., a man was possibly backing up after missing an address on Bellmore Avenue that he was delivering a pizza to. He was then hit in the rear by an oncoming car.

The officer said that at first, the man seemed to be in serious condition, but seemed to gradually look a little better.

"You know, it's like a football player when you see him go down and then come to after a bit, that's what he was like," he said. "I think he will be fine, but it seemed like he got a nasty concussion," the officer added.
