Police: Baldwin Man Tried to Use Stolen Credit Card at P.C. Richard

A Baldwin man was arrested Friday evening after police say he attempted to purchase multiple items at the Bellmore P.C. Richard stole with a stolen credit card. 

According to police, Tariq R. Shirley, 22, entered the store located at 701 Sunrise Highway and tried to buy items using a stolen P.C. Richard credit card at 6:35 p.m. 

Shirley also presented a forged Connecticut driver's license to the cashier along with the credit card, police said.

Police responded to the store and placed Shirley under arrest without incident, police said. 

Shirley is charged with third degree grand larceny, second degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property and first degree identity theft. He will be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
