Man Arrested for Stalking Teens in Bellmore

A Woodmere man was arrested Wednesday after he tried to lure two teenagers to his car in Bellmore on separate occasions, according to Newsday [pay link]

According to Nassau County Police, Michael Chemick, 23, rolled down his window to speak to a 14-year-old girl near the intersection of Newbridge Road and Fish Avenue on Sept. 26. Police said that he began to ask her questions, yelled obscenities and then exposed himself to her.
Then, on Monday, Chemick allegedly tried to talk to a 15-year-old girl near the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Beltagh Avenue. After cops responded, the girl told them that it was the third time in two weeks that he tried to lure her. Nobody was injured during either incident, police said.

Chemick was arrested outside of his home in Woodmere without incident Wednesday morning. He's charged with attempting to lure a child, endangering the welfare of a child and stalking. His arraignment is scheduled for Thursday.

Detectives ask anyone with further details to call 516-573-6153.
