Liquor Store Worker Arrested For Underaged Sale

A Nassau County's "Project 21" initiative that involved 10 liquor stores in Wantagh, Bellmore and Massapequa landed one arrest.

Ramnarine Ganesh, 55, of Queens, who works at Ivan &  Sons Liquor at 1310 Hicksville Rd. in Massapequa allegedly made a sale to an underage agent, who was working with police on Saturday night. The agent tried to buy liquor at 10 liquor stores in Wantagh, Bellmore and Massapequa, but according to police, Ganesh was the only one who made the sale.

"Everyone else did the right thing," Nassau County police spokeswoman Maureen Roach said.

Ganesh was charged with unlawfully dealing with a child and prohibited sale of alcohol to a minor. He is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Sunday.
