Crime Report: Multiple Cars Damaged at Kennedy High School and a DWI

Recent police activity in Bellmore as reported by the 1st and 7th Precincts.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

  • A BMX bicycle was stolen from a residence on Lakeview Road in Bellmore between 6 p.m. on March 19 and 8 p.m. on March 23.
  • On March 23 between 11:15 a.m. and 12 p.m., a gray 2010 two-door Hyundai, a 2001 Ford Explorer and a 2009 black Hummer were keyed while parked in the north side parking lot at Kennedy High School.
  • On March 24 at 1:50 p.m., Andrew Kopnicky, 25, of North Bellmore, was arrested on Peninsula Boulevard in Lynbrook and charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
  • Between 10 p.m. on March 26 and 8 a.m. on March 27, an unknown suspect stole the tires and rims of a car parked on Greta Place in North Bellmore. The suspect also damaged the side door and shattered the window of the vehicle.
  • On March 27, Louis A Nicosia III, 22, of Farmingdale, was arrested on Bellmore Avenue and Royale Street in Bellmore and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and two violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.
