Crime Report: Fire Breaks Out on Sunrise Highway, DWI Arrest

The following arrest information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department; it does not indicate a conviction.

  • A North Bellmore man was charged DWI and criminal possession of a weapon after he was pulled over on the Southern State Parkway Saturday morning. Click here for more.
  • Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice announced on Wednesday that the final defendant in a violent 2011 home invasion in North Bellmore received a maximum sentence of 25 years. Click here for more.
  • Sometime between 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 5 and 6 a.m. on Dec. 6, a vehicle's tire was punctured on Beford Avenue.
  • On Dec. 8, between 2-6 a.m., a vehicle's side view mirror was broken off while it was parked on Davenport Place.
  • Sometime between 6 p.m. on Dec. 6 and 8 a.m. on Dec. 8, property was stolen out of a vehicle on Linwood Avenue.
  • A Bellmore man was arrested on Dec. 11 for allegedly stealing Crest White Strips from CVS and Rite Aid, according to police. Click here for more.
  • On Dec. 15, at 4 a.m., items were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked on Elderberry Road.
  • Sometime between 1 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Dec. 15, a cell phone was stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Lincoln Boulevard.
  • On Dec. 17, a A tanker fire broke out on Sunrise Highway in Bellmore between Auto Zone and the Harley Davidson dealership, leaving families displaced.
