Crime Nearby Part II: Burglary Arrest, Home Break-In

Recent criminal incidents reported for Wantagh, Seaford and Levittown.

The following information is taken directly from the Nassau County Police Department's incident reports. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime.

Levittown

  • On July 2, a Vox DVD player, a Nikon camera and a lens from a vehicle were stolen on Coppersmith Road.
  • On July 3, a front tire were slashed on a car on Andover Lane.
  • On July 3, assorted jewelry was stolen from N. Newbridge Road.
  • On July 7, the first floor window of a home on Hickory Lane was opened with no reported loss.
  • A Uniondale man was arrested on July 10 after he allegedly broke into a  home on Elm Drive South and tried to enter another on Charles Lane. For more details, click here
Seaford
  • A wallet was stolen on June 12 from a vehicle parked on Tiana Street in Seaford. No damage to the vehicle was reported.
  • Tires and rims were stolen from a 2011 Honda Accord parked on Nancy Lane in Seaford between July 1-2.
  • A vehicle parked on Jackson Avenue in Seaford had its rear windshield broken and rear door dented on July 3. No property was reported stolen.
  • On July 6, Stephen Hutter of Seaford was arrested on Merrick Road in Seaford and charged with third and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle as well as a vehicle and traffic law violation.
  • Damage was reported at the former Seaford Avenue School building on July 7.
  • An aggravated harassment was reported on Wicks Avenue in Seaford on July 7.
Wantagh 
  • A man on Daffodil Lane in Wantagh reported on July 2 that a metal luggage rack was stolen that had been affixed to his vehicle.
  • On July 6, James Foynes, 69, of Wantagh was arrested at the intersection of Beech Street and Sunrise Highway in Wantagh and charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
  • A Wantagh man was arrested at the Wantagh Long Island Rail Road Station on July 9 and charged with committing two recent burglaries in the Massapequa area. For more details, click here
