The Bellmore School District is reporting that power is still down at Shore Road School.
According to representatives of the district, there is no damage to the school buildings. While some trees fell down and knocked down some fencing, the school district has already cleaned up the downed trees and repaired the fences.
If power is still not restored at Shore Road School, students in grades 5 and 6 will not have school on Tuesday.
The district is developing a contingency plan for relocating students to other schools in the district and will share those plans, if necessary.
They do not expect buses to be available, so parents should arrange to drop off and pick up their children for at least a few days.
