Kennedy Grad Headlines Bellmore Library Health Lecture

Mercy Medical Center invites the community to a free lecture on controlling cholesterol levels with statin drugs at the Bellmore Memorial Library on Feb. 13 at noon.

The hour-long presentation will be given by Dr. Michael Moskowitz of Bellmore Family Practice, who will explain the role that statin medications play in managing high cholesterol, and how physicians prescribe them to reduce a patient’s risk of heart attack and stroke.

Dr. Moskowitz is a Bellmore “home town boy” who attended John F. Kennedy High School and went on to earn his undergraduate degree cum laude at State University of New York Binghamton and his medical degree at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury.

He did his postgraduate training at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, where he most recently was Chief Resident in the Family Medicine Residency Program.

There is no charge for attending the presentation and advance registration is not required to attend.
