Michael Schwartz was selected by NBC Sports to assist with the network's coverage of the XXII Olympic Winter Games in February.

Michael Schwartz, a graduate of Kennedy High School, was selected by NBC Sports to assist with the network's coverage of the XXII Olympic Winter Games, being held Feb. 6-23 in Sochi, Russia.

Schwartz is a sophomore majoring in radio-television in the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College.

"I am excited to be part of this program and I feel very privileged, especially since I will be the youngest one there," he said. "The opportunity to do this is such an honor."

A total of 34 students from the Park School will be serving behind-the-scenes roles at the world's biggest athletic event.

Ithaca joins Syracuse University and Bradley University as the only institutions nationwide with which NBC Sports partners to recruit interns for its Olympics coverage.
