Three CHSD Schools Named to Newsweek's Best High Schools List

Kennedy leads the way as all three CHSD schools makes the top 300.

Kennedy, Calhoun and Mepham were recently named to Newsweek's America's Best High Schools list.

Kennedy High School, which according to Newsweek has an average SAT score of 1602, was ranked 167 out of 500 schools mentioned.

Calhoun High School also made the list with an average SAT score of 1582 and an overall ranking of 235.

Mepham High School rounded out the three school with an average SAT score of 1537 and a ranking of 268 out of 500.

According to their website, each school’s score is comprised of six components: graduation rate (25 percent), college matriculation rate (25 percent), AP tests taken per graduate (25 percent), average SAT/ACT scores (10%), average AP/IB/AICE scores (10 percent), and AP courses offered (5 percent).
