June 22: Prom Contest, Garden at Park Avenue

Our "Five Things You Need to Know" is just like coffee: you can't start your morning without it!

• Students, teachers and parents have come together this year at Park Avenue Elementary School to create an incredible garden at the school. Come back this morning at 9 a.m. to read all about the effort that went into it and how the garden looks now!
• In case you missed it, we're running a special prom contest here on Bellmore Patch. All you have to do is submit photos of your kids in their prom gowns and tuxedos and we will randomly pick a winner. Get all of the details here.
• It's graduation day for all sixth graders in the North Bellmore School District. Congratulations to all students from the six North Bellmore schools from Bellmore Patch!
• Finding a job isn't easy, but Bellmore Patch is here to help. Come back today at noon for our list of jobs in the area. Also, come back today at 5 p.m. when we give you this week's "Bites Nearby" selection. Hint: the eatery we chose is "heroic."
• Any golfers out there? Want to improve your golf game? Well, Sherrie Glasser of Metropolitan Physical Therapy and Aquatics in Bellmore will show participants how to train from the ground up for lower scores and more distance tonight at the Bellmore Memorial Library for free!
