Got Stress?

How does Stress affect your health? How can chiropractic care help alleviate that stress?

Ever woken up in the middle of the night wondering how you were going to pay the bills? Then you know that a car or mortgage payment can affect your health!

The stress of personal conflicts, work, project deadlines, and the demands of our time and money take a huge toll on our health. Chronic pain and muscle tension can cause you to experience nervousness and irritability.

There are three types of stress: emotional, chemical and physical. Financial worries -- and other anxieties -- fall into the emotional stress category.

Smoking, alcohol consumption, medication and poor diet can lead to chemical stress in your body.

The physical stress of poor posture, improper lifting, sports related injuries, auto accidents, and slips and falls can cause wear and tear on your body.

All three types of stress affect your nervous system. Like a chain that breaks at its weakest link, stress tends to show up where we are most vulnerable: our neck, our lower back and tightness between our shoulders.

Stress can increase the frequency of headaches and compromise our ability to get enough restful sleep.

How does chiropractic help reduce stress?

It allows the joints and muscles to move freely, which in turn increases blood flow and reduces neurological irritation. Muscles can then relax and pressure in blood vessels decreases.

It helps to break the cycle of pain from stress and anxiety. Chiropractic care provides individuals with a safe, effective way to reduce the symptoms of stress, feel great, and, in turn, be happier.

Keep in mind, everyone has stress, but you can reduce or eliminate its effects through chiropractic treatment. Regular chiropractic care now could be a wise investment for a healthier, happier and financially secure you!
