Nassau County Police are investigating a suspicious package that was reported on Merrick Road in Merrick, cops told Patch.
As of 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Seventh Precinct officers, along with the Nassau County Emergency Service Unit and highway patrol were seen inside of Burger King, which has its lot taped off for security measures.

Also taped off is the lot of the combined Pizza Hut/Taco Bell, which had no lights on and no visible occupants inside. It's unknown whether the package was reported in either of those buildings.
Cops confirmed that they are still in the investigatory stages and that both buildings were evacuated.
