Kennedy Virtual Enterprise Team Takes First Place

Editor's Note: This article was written by representatives of the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District.

Congratulations to our Virtual Enterprise firm, Cupcake Break who placed first in the Long Island Business Plan Competition, defeating 23 other firms.  

With the guidance of a teacher-facilitator, Virtual Enterprise students create and manage a virtual company, conducting business with other “firms” nationally and internationally. Students are involved in every aspect of running a business, including human resources, accounting, product development, production, distribution, marketing, and sales.

Cupcake Break is a virtual company that runs an upscale and luxurious bakery that specializes in gourmet cupcakes.  The company offers a customization option as well as a unique catering service, both of which help it succeed in the virtual business world.

In April, the team will be competing in the National Competition against the top 25 firms in the country.
