Police: North Bellmore Woman Arrested for Killing Ex-Husband

Nancy Boland charged with manslaughter after stabbing victim and dumping his body.

A North Bellmore woman was arrested for killing her ex-husband and then dumping his body in the woods along the Wantagh State Parkway, New York State Police said.

Nancy Boland, 56, was arrested and charged with first-degree manslaughter, a felony, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor and tampering with physical evidence, a felony.

On Friday, the body of Walter Boland, 58, was discovered by a jogger on the bike path on the Wantagh State Parkway, south of the Southern State Parkway, police said.

An autopsy performed by the Nassau County Medical Examiners Office determined the cause of death to be from a single stab wound to the lower abdomen, police said.

According to police, an investigation revealed that Boland was stabbed after a dispute with his ex-wife at the residence they shared late Wednesday evening. Police said that they believed Boland never received medical attention and died on Thursday.

Nancy Boland removed the victim's body from the residence and disposed the body on the Wantagh State Parkway bike path, where he was found on Friday.

New York State Police Senior Investigator John Lang said during a press conference Saturday afternoon that Boland confessed to the crime. Lang said there was a history of domestic violence between Boland and her former husband and that they were still living together at the time of Wednesday night's incident.

Police said they are continuing to investigate Boland's death. Anyone with information is urged to call New York State Police at 631-756-3390.
