Time to Put The Pedal to the Metal

For those of you who don't remember, I once had a blog on Patch called "Mike's Weight Loss Challenge."

Long story short, I weighed 310 pounds in December of 2011. I decided to have weight loss surgery, which was scheduled for Feb. 1, 2012. The best thing happened. One week before the surgery, I chickened out, and decided to give it one more shot the old fashioned way, and it paid off.

Thanks to some help from my friend Kenny Lippe (remember that name for letter), I was able to drop 90 pounds to 220, and I was feeling great.

Then, I got a little bit cocky as if I was invincible, and it turns out, I am not. I gained close to 40 pounds back, and I am not going to let it get to where it was. That's for sure.

So where I stand, I am at 256, and I have started a new workout regimen with Kenny Lippe, who happens to be a strength coach at Xceleration Sports Training in Deer Park.

The problem? I am an injury machine. I have dealt with shoulder tears and unstable muscles since elementary school, but Kenny went through that too, and he vowed that, if I put in the effort, I will feel like a new man.

The plan: Four days per week going to Xceleration. In a few weeks, the plan changes once I build up strength. Started Monday.

The bottom line? I don't only want to get where I was in weight. I want to surpass it and get in shape, which is something I never had even thought possible.
