The Bellmore Union Free School District registers students for kindergarten in two phases.
The first phase of this process for the 2013-2014 school year, proof of residency, will take place during the weeks of Jan. 7-11 and 14-18, 2013, between 9-11 a.m. Registration forms are available on the district’s website at www.bellmoreschools.org.

Parents of children who will be 5 years old on or before Dec. 1, 2013 are asked to present the following information to the district office at the administrative offices at the Winthrop Avenue School:
- Child’s original birth or baptismal certificate
- Property tax receipt
- One document indicating ownership or rental of property (i.e., deed, mortgage statement, homeowner’s insurance policy, lease)
- Two documents verifying residency (i.e., recent utility bills)
After residency is confirmed, the second phase of registration will take place at the Charles A. Reinhard Early Childhood Center. Parents will be mailed a kindergarten packet requesting other specific information that must be provided in order to complete the registration process. That packet will also provide information about the kindergarten screening process.
