I think the main problem in merrick isn't the flooding, or the sewers, but the strange odor over onRead More merrick ave by the temples, it really emulates every saturday. Almost smells like the dead sea

Mr. Dunn, those were your words when I was worried about 5 feet of water in my street and home. YouRead More said it was "tragic", but not dangerous.

So according to you then, nobody has any right to complain about home damage from Hurricane SandyRead More because the national calamiity in Japan from the tsunami at Fukushima Daiichi was far worse. That kind of thinking seems to me utterly warped. The flooding and sewer overflow in Merrick produced still another public hazrd apart from the physcial effects in the phtographs thus far. I will put that on Patch later today.

Road flooding is a massive problem in this area. Clogged sewers are the reason for this. TwoRead More particular examples are the intersection of Hewlett Avenue and Smith Street and at the intersection of Hewlett Avenue and Merrick Road. Apart from never being cleaned out as part of any regular maintenance activity, I often see debris being deliberately swept into the sewer gratings.

Dressing in layers always worked for me with wearing the hat, scarf and gloves. So why is it that IRead More see people all the time (and it could at any place) complaining about the cold outside and are not properly dressed for the weather? Jumping up and down with thier hands in their pockets like some kind of entertainment. Yes baby it's cold outside. But just some common sense folks. Just plain old common sense. But snow this afternoon? I'll be waiting. Some overtime for me.
