The flooding and sewer overflow in Merrick produced still another public hazrd apart from the physcial effects in the phtographs thus far. I will put that on Patch later today.

Road flooding is a massive problem in this area. Clogged sewers are the reason for this.

Apart from never being cleaned out as part of any regular maintenance activity, I often see debris being deliberately swept into the sewer gratings.
