Thanks to local mediums like this , I found out about this event on the actual day of the event. SoRead More glad I attended , inspite of the huge crowd it was organized, went smoothly and was so worth the wait. Curtis of course was Wonderful, so humble so accomodating and of course so generous. Very proud and grateful to the patch and my son"s future high school JFK, we need more events like this and we need them covered.

Board of Ed: Imagine if we as homeowners maintained our properties in the manner in which youRead More maintain our school district properties, it would bring down the property values in our entire community. I've been asking myself, why then do we accept this from our school district? We are charged an exorbitant amount of school taxes by you, yet we continue to accept mediocrity from you on so many levels. The kids and the community must come first, we've paid long enough. It's time to give back to the taxpayer and I DON'T mean in the way of an appropriated fund balance. Give back the funds you've already collected from us by upgrading the fields, it needs to be done, it's time!

Dear Board of Education; You are only doing an analysis to our fields NOW that a Superintendent isRead More starting on July 1st? And you admit these concerns have been coming up at many of your prior meetings! You should be ashamed of yourselves. This like telling a student to study the night before the SAT's and letting them skip 9th, 10th and 11th grade. You have not educated yourselves on the topic of safe fields, cared enough to tour the fields, or have kept our schools as competitive as our neighbors. Your letter is embarrassing! GIVE US ANSWERS at the next meeting! We can only hope that the new Superintendent has vision for our future student-athletes and that Board members who have vision for the future will come forward and speak out and make changes.

@sab & ellen, please allow me to rephrase that, I do not personally know any high schoolRead More student athletes, I do know some of their parents. And yes I would love Turf fields, however if elected it is not "what I want" it is what the taxpayers, students, parents etc. are for, which is why I posted here, why I have spent countless hours as a candidate walking door to door, attending meetings trying to find out what the taxpayers, students, parents etc. want along with what is best for the students, taxpayers. What is financially feasible. Let’s not forgot other organizations rent time on these fields and their concerns need to be addressed or they will take their money elsewhere. So if all of those factors come to be a yes I will vote for them if not , no. Again it is not about what I personally want. @Ellen, like I said to Sab. I will vote. I do not believe this a great forum for this. I think you all should attend your board meetings, held once a month in every district. Make your voices heard, or write a letter to the boards expressing your concerns. Be official and be heard!
