Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District

<p>Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District was established on November 1, 1934, by the States Commissioner of Education. The district was known as C.H.S.D. 3 until May 1973, when it adopted the name reflecting its geographic location, a change that was required of all districts by the State Education Department.</p> <p>The district comprises the <a href="http://www.bellmore-merrick.k12.ny.us/map/index.html">Meadowbrook Alternative Program</a>, <a href="http://www.bellmore-merrick.k12.ny.us/merrickave/index.html">Merrick Avenue Middle School</a>, <a href="http://www.bellmore-merrick.k12.ny.us/grand/index.htm">Grand Avenue Middle School</a>, <a href="http://www.bellmore-merrick.k12.ny.us/calhoun/index.html">Sanford H. Calhoun High School</a>, <a href="http://www.bellmore-merrick.k12.ny.us/kennedy/index.htm">John F. Kennedy High School</a> and <a href="http://www.bellmore-merrick.k12.ny.us/mepham/index.htm">Mepham High School</a>.</p> <p>The Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District serves more than 6,000 students from the <a href="http://www.bellmore.k12.ny.us/">Bellmore</a>, <a href="http://www.northbellmoreschools.org/">North Bellmore</a>, <a href="http://www.merrick-k6.org/merrick/merrick.cfm">Merrick</a> and <a href="http://www.nmerrickschools.org/">North Merrick </a>Elementary School Districts.</p> <p>Dr. Henry Kiernan serves as the superintendent of schools.</p>
