WEATHER ALERT: Flash Flooding Possible in Bellmore

Poor drainage could create flooding conditions on roads and other areas.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for parts of Long Island, including Bellmore.

Heavy storms moving at approximately 20mph are expected to produce between 1 and 2 inches of rain per hour.

"Excessive runoff from this storm will cause flooding of urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots," the Upton-based weather agency reported.
