Bellmore Chamber Hosts Chinese Auction

The Chamber of Commerce of the Bellmores hosted its first annual Chinese Auction on Friday night.

The Bellmore Chamber of Commerce of the Bellmores hosted its first annual Chinese Auction Friday night at the VFW Hall on Bedford Avenue.

The auction brought in thousands of dollars in prizes that were generously donated by local merchants, as well as some great events like tickets in New York City. Prizes also included gift certificates to eateries, movies, jewelry and more. 

Chamber Recording Secretary and event planner Sheryl Perry of Tastefully Simple said the auction was a huge success.

"We had approximately 130 people come," she added. "We gave out 120 prizes mostly from local Bellmore merchants including an iPad, cining certificates, and collectibles."

The money earned will go towards community events such as parades and holiday events.
