Yankees GM Visits 'Bald Vinny' for Roll Call

Bellmore resident "Bald" Vinny Milano had a special guest during Sunday's Yankees game.

"Bald" Vinny Milano, a Bellmore resident and chief "Bleacher Creature" for the New York Yankees, got a visit from Yankees' General Manager Brian Cashman during Sunday's game against the Detroit Tigers.

According to ESPN New York, Milano spotted Cashman outside the stadium and asked the GM to come sit in the bleachers, as he has done in the past.

"He said, 'Why don't you come on out?'" Cashman told ESPNNewYork.com after the Yankees' 6-2 win over the Detroit Tigers. "I said, 'You know what, maybe I will.' I've got my son. I've never experienced the roll call from the stands. I wanted my son to experience a big part of Yankee tradition now.

"So I said, 'I'll come out for the first inning, if I have time. If something doesn't come up.' So we were able to make it. We sat for the first defensive portion of the inning and then we left and we went back to the office."

Cashman, along with his 8-year-old son, Teddy, got to enjoy their first Yankees' roll call alongside Milano, but the 44-year-old GM needed a disguise to make it out to the bleachers unnoticed.

According to a photo tweeted by Milano, Cashman had to wear sunglasses, a visor and a spiked wig to keep his identity concealed while walking through the stadium.
