North Bellmore-North Merrick Little League Team to Play in State Final

The North Bellmore-North Merrick Rebels will play Tuesday at 2 p.m.

The North Bellmore-North Merrick Rebels U-12 baseball team defeated Commack 6-1 Saturday and are now one win away from the New York State championship.

The team will play for the championship at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the North Shore Little League complex in Rocky Point.

The winner of the state final then goes on to play in Bristol, Conn. for a chance to represent the Mid-Atlantic region in the Little League World Series set to begin on Aug. 16.

The Rebels won the Long Island Section 6 championship last year as a U-11 team, before falling short in the state tournament.
