Scott Lipsky, a Merrick native and Kennedy High School graduate, and his tennis partner, Santiago Gonzalez of Mexico, recently took home the championship title at the Campbell’s Hall of Fame Tennis Championships in the men's doubles finals.
According to LongIslandTennisMagazine.com, Lipsky and Gonzalez defeated the No. 2 seed team. They were ranked No. 3.
Upon winning, Lipsky told Long Island Tennis Magazine,
“It’s exciting to win any title. It’s my sixth year here — I’ve made the semis [a couple times] — so it’s nice to get over the hump and win the title," said Lipsky. "It was a good match today. Those guys played well. They’re a good team and so little determines wins and losses, but we played one good return game and it was enough.”
