Kennedy Boys Volleyball Team Honored by Bellmore-Merrick CHSD

The Kennedy High School boys volleyball team, The Cougars, were recently honored by the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District for securing their fifth Nassau County Championship in the last six years with a three-game sweep. 

The team will move on to compete in their second consecutive Long Island Championship and advancing to the New York State Championships.

Prior to the New York State Championship match, the Cougars had won 45 consecutive matches. 

“This team and its players serve as role models for all student-athletes,”  Superintendent of Schools John DeTommaso said. “They all have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for the sport, and conduct themselves like champions both on and off the court. I am beyond proud of their accomplishments.”
