Bellmore Native Named Co-Player of the Week by Skyline Conference

Brian Walsh was given the honor for his performance as a member of the Old Westbury Panthers.

Brian Walsh, a Bellmore native and a  Mepham High School graduate was named Skyline Conference Co-Baseball Player of the Week for his performance as a member of the SUNY College at Old Westbury baseball team, The Panthers, on Monday.
 
In the first weekly honors announced by the conference in baseball, Walsh, a junior at Old Westbury, was highlighted for hitting .519 at the plate with three doubles, eight RBI and eight runs scored as the Panthers opened the season with a 5-2 record.
 
The Skyline Conference supports athletes in "their efforts to reach high levels of academic and athletic performance consistent with the academic goals of member institutions and without providing athletically related aid."
