Whiz Kid: Chase Brennick (Mepham Salutatorian)

This week's Whiz Kid is Mepham senior Chase Brennick!

• Name: Chase Brennick
• Grade: Senior
• School: Mepham High School
• Accomplishment: Salutatorian of the Mepham Class of 2011.
• Key to Awesomeness: Brennick's incredible enthusiasm paid off this year when she was announced as the salutatorian of the Mepham Class of 2011. She will be attending New York University in the fall. She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences as a Presidential Honors Scholar and is planning on majoring in English.
• Brennick is a member of seven honor societies at school -- National, English, Math, Science, Spanish, History and Tri-M (music) -- and served as president of History and as an officer of Tri-M.
• Brennick plays the piano, alto, tenor and soprano saxophones, and also sings. She was in the All-County Band as an alto saxophonist and was the captain of the band program at Mepham, planning fundraisers and events like Battle of the Bands. Her extracurricular activites include Mepham Jazz Ensemble, Vocal Jazz Choir, Science Club, Math Team and working for The Buccaneer (Mepham's newspaper). She is also a columnist here on Bellmore Patch!
