Whiz Kid: Amanda Linder

A column that will honor the top students in the Bellmore community.

This week's Whiz Kid is Kennedy senior Amanda Linder!

  • Name: Amanada Linder
  • Grade: Senior
  • School: Kennedy High School
  • Key Accomplishment: Linder was awarded third place honors in behavioral science at the Long Island Science and Engineering Fair.
  • Key to Awesomeness: Inspired by her godfather, who always encouraged her inquisitiveness, and aided by her parents, who took her wherever she needed to be, Linder took to research to study the different parts of the brain, more specifically, how do the parts of the brain work together between audio and reaction. Linder studied rats in a lab and performed several surgeries and did different tests to put together her project, "Exploring the Function of the Posterior Partial Cortex During an Auditory Discrimination Task."

Know a great kid who made Eagle Scout or did your local soccer team take the
championship? They may be our next Patch Whiz Kid honoree.

Each week, Bellmore Patch will seek suggestions from readers for individual kids, youth groups, teens, and even sports teams that wow us with their accomplishments. We want to hear about these amazing children and teens and select one each week as the Patch Whiz Kid.
