Christopher Safina has been working in Mepham High School since 1993, and 20 years later, he has been rewarded with tenure.
Safina used to be a guidance counselor at Mepham High School before he took over as assistant principal. At last week's Bellmore-Merrick Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Henry Kiernan praised his work ethic and referred to Safina as an "invaluable member of the staff."Like Bellmore Patch on Facebook and sign up for our newsletter.
"His work is exceptional, and I am proud to have him working with us," Kiernan said.
