Gunther Set to Close Friday
The school will shutter for good after 55 years in North Bellmore.
Jacob Gunther Elementary School will close its doors for good on Friday morning.
The North Bellmore Board of Education announced in December 2011 that the school will close to cut costs.
On June 1, the school hosted its Goodbye Fun Festival, in which current and former students, teachers and parents celebrated the school.
Students will be dismissed at 11 a.m. on Friday.
