Grand Avenue PTSA Holds Last Meeting of Year

The meeting discussed upcoming events and honored retiring Principal Lewis Serra.

At their last meeting of the school year, the Grand Avenue PTSA bid farewell to retiring Principal Lewis Serra last Thursday.

The meeting began with a tearful speech by Serra, in which he explained that his "last seven years at Grand have been the most enriching and awarding experience."

Principal Serra is retiting after 41 years in the education system, 20 of which were dedicated to the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District. Faculty and parents at the meeting thanked Serra for making Grand such a wonderful place and called him an "inspiration" to the district.
