The bases were loaded and smiles were immeasurable at the Charles A. Reinhard Early Childhood Center. On Tuesday morning students from kindergarten through second grade gathered outside to compete in various field day games. Each class divided up between the red and the blue teams, and then circulated the among field day events with another class.
Physical Education teachers Ann Roman, Kathy Fay and Elia DeBlasio led the students in events such as scooter races and kickball. The District's focus on a Community of Learners was clearly shown in the day's events, with teachers, parents, and students working with each other and bringing the school community together for a fun-filled day.
Field day at the Early Childhood Center shows the teamwork and sportsmanship the students possess, and reveals the students' culmination of physical education for the year. After all the events were completed, the day concluded with the students having ices and a medal ceremony that proved every student was a winner.
