In light of the recent shooting threat that was allegedly made to Mepham High School in Bellmore, Bellmore School Superintendent Joseph Famularo released a statement regarding security in the district's buildings.

"The safety and security of students and staff in the Bellmore Public Schools is our number one priority," Famularo said. "The District has made many preparations over the last several years working with various agencies to effectively respond to emergency situations."
"We continually review and enhance our practices and security measures," he added.
