Shore Road School Reopened Tuesday

Superintendent Dr. Joseph Famularo addresses parents regarding the school and district issues.

Editor’s Note: The following letter was written by Bellmore Schools Superintendent Dr. Joseph Famularo.

Dear Parents,

Power has been restored to the Shore Road School, and our 5th and 6th grade students will resume classes there on Tuesday, Nov. 13 (following the closing of schools for Veteran’s Day on Monday). Regular bus routes will be in effect on Tuesday.

The Parent/Teacher Conferences for next week will be held as scheduled:

  • Reinhard ECC Tuesday, Nov. 13- 6-8 p.m.
  • Winthrop Ave. Wednesday, Nov. 14- 6-8 p.m.

Information regarding the rescheduling of conferences that were to be held on Tuesday, Nov. 6 will be sent home next week.

It was the outstanding teamwork of administrators, staff, parents, and even our students that made re-opening our schools possible. I had the pleasure of seeing our students happy to be back in school with their teachers and classmates; and our 5th and 6th grade students readily adjusting to their new learning environments.

Many of our Bellmore families were greatly affected by Hurricane Sandy, as were many of our staff members. As we move forward, if you are in need of any assistance, please contact our school social worker, Christine Davison at 679-2954.  We will do everything we can to help you. All calls will be confidential.

Lastly, thank you for the donations that have already come in. Together we can, and are, making a difference.
