Training Program for Volunteer Counselors

Free training of volunteer counselors for the Bellmore-based Long Island Crisis Center (LICC)'s 24 hour-a-day, 7 day-a-week, suicide prevention and crisis intervention hotline begins tonight.

Preregistration and an interview are required in advance to participate in this Counselor Assistant Training Program. No experience is necessary and the hours are flexible to fit the individual needs of volunteers. 

This free, comprehensive orientation training program takes place over three consecutive sessions at LICC’s office in Bellmore held on three successive Wednesday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on September 7, 14, and 21.

Note: A second program takes place in October, to be held on three successive Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on October 15, 22 and 29.
