Driving in the Safe Lane Comes to Bellmore-Merrick CHSD

The highly acclaimed program will begin in the district in January.

The Community Parent Center, in partnership with the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District and Legislator David Denenberg, will bring the  “Driving in the Safe Lane” program to the the district in January.

Driving in the Safe Lane educates parents and new teen drivers about safety measures, New York State driving laws and parental responsibilities.

The program was launched in 2006 by the Community Parent Center in response to the growing problem of unsafe teen driving.

“Our goal is to save young lives through education and awareness,” Wendy Tepfer, executive director of the Community Parent Center, said. “Our message is that driving is a privilege and comes with great responsibility.”

The first lecture program will take place at the Brookside School on January 14 at 7:30 p.m.
