Middle school students will be able to select from a wide variety of activities starting in October.

The following is from the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District:

Beginning in October, middle school students can select from a wide variety of activities available to them Monday to Thursday from 3-6 p.m. at the Bellmore-Merrick Middle School after-school program.

The after-school program has proved to be extremely successful for students who have participated in one or more afternoons at both of the district’s middle schools.

Students can participate in a variety of activities including Internet access, games, arts, crafts and community service. In addition, students who participated in after-school homework assistance and tutoring made significant academic gain.

Parents of middle school students can enjoy the assurance that, while they are at work, their children will be participating in these activities in a safe, supervised environment. Late buses will be available for students who require transportation.
