Central High School District Budget Passes, Capital Improvement Project Approved
Voters approve $127 million budget.
At the Central High School District level, Bellmore and Merrick residents voted to approve the $127 million budget by 4,638 yes votes to 3,546 no votes. This budget represents a 3.39 percent budget-to-budget increase and a 3.75 percent tax levy increase.
Proposition No. 4, a $1,230,000 Capital Improvement Project that will finance roof work at Calhoun, Mepham and Merrick Avenue Middle School, track resurfacing at Kennedy and concrete work at Grand Avenue Middle School, passed 5,248 to 1,992.
