Bellmore Schools Announce Security Upgrade Plans

After working with many different security firms, the Bellmore School District recently announced plans to upgrade the district's security systems.

According to Superintendent Dr. Joseph Famularo, Bellmore Schools has entered into a contract with Nassau Boces and Intralogic Solutions to significantly enhance the security equipment in Reinhard, Shore Road and Winthrop Avenue Schools.

"We'll be getting a number of new cameras inside and outside of the buildings in the district," Famularo said.

Additionally, there will be door ajar sensors, access controls for staff, panic buttons and electronic floor plans.

"It's going to be state-of-the-art," Famularo added. "As we always say, student safety is our number one priority."
