After School Program Available to Junior High Students

Kids can engage in a wide variety of activities from 3-5 p.m.

Beginning in October, middle school students can select from a wide variety of activities available to them Monday to Thursday from 3-5 p.m. at the Bellmore-Merrick Middle School After-School Program.

This program has proved to be extremely successful for students who have participated in one or more afternoons at both of the District’s middle schools.

Students can participate in a variety of activities including internet access, games, arts, crafts and community service. In addition, homework assistance and tutoring is available, and students who have participated in these programs have made significant academic gain.

Parents of middle school students can enjoy the assurance that, while they are at work, their children will be participating in these activities in a safe, supervised environment.  Late buses will be available for students who require transportation.

The program is partially funded by donations from community groups and program supervision is provided by the Bellmore-Merrick CHSD professional staff. The After-School program is a wonderful addition to the services available to you through the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District.
